Sunday 21st January 2018 was a special day at Southport SLSC.
21 new children with disabilities were invited to visit the club and be a Nipper for the day. Matched with a buddy from Nippers, the new-recruits tried out Nippers activities such as sprint tracks, flags, sand games and boards.
Before the day, the club took part in training with Autism Spectrum Australia, to learn about how to support children with disabilities and partnered with Albatross Nippers to help them coordinate the day.
Children, buddies, and parents alike had a wonderful time, and the club will be continuing to host these inclusion days throughout the season.
2 Nippers enjoyed it so much, they will be enrolling for mainstream Nippers next season!
